GiveWay play Scottish music with attitude! Over the years GiveWay have won awards both individually and collectively-the most prestigious so far being the BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award 2001, and nominees for the Scots Trad music award 2003- ‘Best Up and Coming Artist/Band’ category. GiveWay have played at many of the major festivals around Britain including main stage at Cambridge. GiveWay have received invites to Denmark, New Zealand and Australia.

At New Year 2002/3 GiveWay brought the year in, on BBC 1 TV’s “Hogmanay Live”. Where they not only played as a band, but with Phil Cunningham, Aly Bain, Fiddlers Bid, Cara Dillon and David Sneddon (Fame Academy winner).

GiveWay released their debut album-“Full Steam Ahead” (on the Greentrax label, produced by Phil Cunningham) in June. “This is seriously good playing”- Gordon Potter, Living Tradition Magazine.
